How Angelo turned his passion into digital presence without losing the emotional essence

Angelo, a singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, has emerged as a TikTok phenomenon, captivating a loyal audience with his daily performances, original songs, and reinterpretations of classics—all delivered with a pop/rock sound that deeply resonates with thousands of followers. Through livestreams, he became one of many artists who’ve transformed technology and new forms of interaction into a stage for their talent.

I recently had a fantastic conversation with him to learn about his path and understand how he adapted to a constantly evolving technological landscape—not just in terms of tools, but in the way we consume entertainment.

Angelo’s relationship with music dates back to childhood: his home was always filled with chords and melodies. His grandmother was a piano teacher and opera singer, and his mother an amateur musician; he learned to play piano by ear at just 7 years old! From big bands to Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and the The Beatles—introduced by his older brother, another music lover—he grew up immersed in a true musical soundtrack.

At 14, influenced by Brazilian rock from the ‘80s and struck by a Kiss concert, he fell in love with the genre for good. He received his first guitar from his father and began recording over old karaoke LPs. Over time, he refined his vocal technique and became the lead singer of various bands, performing in bars and festivals across Rio de Janeiro, including the legendary Circo Voador.

At 22, he faced a turning point: he pursued a career in law, earned a degree, but found no fulfillment. After an anxiety crisis, a psychologist offered him transformative advice—dedicate yourself to music, the one thing that truly made him come alive. That was the spark he needed to fully embrace what brought him joy.

From then on, he began performing regularly at bars, corporate parties, weddings and anniversaries, as well as prestigious events such as the G20 summit and the Naval Club, where he lit up New Year’s Eve for ten straight years. But the landscape began to shift around 2016, when he noticed these types of events were losing steam. The pandemic accelerated this transformation.

With the rise of livestreams during isolation, Angelo migrated to the digital world. He started on Instagram, but soon realized—with guidance from his agency—that the platform didn’t meet his performance needs. He surprisingly found TikTok to be fertile ground for his craft: there, he connected with an audience looking for exactly what he had to offer.

Today, Angelo sees online broadcasting not as a replacement for physical stages, but as a new form of expression. This format breaks down barriers of logistics, time, and distance, allowing both the artist and audience to experience music with freedom and intimacy—even if it’s through screens. Daily livestreams have become his main showcase. In them, he shares pop and rock reinterpretations with his own unique style, building a career that has successfully reinvented itself. Our conversation made one thing clear: despite shifts in culture and technology, his passion for music has been both compass and anchor. And without diminishing the work of legal professionals, it’s clear that art—and we, the music lovers—have gained so much from the path he chose.
